Magic on the Kingsroad
Location: Dark Hedges, Antrim, Northern Ireland I couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at the Dark Hedges early on the last morning of September. A thick mist hung over the entire Causeway Coast that morning, and as the sun fought its way through the fog, it lit up the road through the Dark Hedges. (These trees were planted along a boulevard by the Stuart Family in the 1800s that have since grown over the road and linked themselves together, and are most famous for their role as the Kingsroad in season 2 of "Game of Thrones.") This was the most magical place I visited during my four-month stint in Europe, and since I spent a lot of time in the Nordic countries and the rest of Ireland, that's no mean feat!
