The Rapids of a Melting Glacier
Location: Athabasca Glacier, Columbia Icefield, Canada Not far from where the gigantically-wheeled Ice Explorer bus stops on the Athabasca Glacier is this rapidly running river. Apparently, there never used to be running water on top of the glacier, but now there is so much melted ice running below the glacier that this water had nowhere else to go. It made for a gorgeous -- but sad -- sight.
