A Hike Through an Impressionist Painting

A Hike Through an Impressionist Painting

For the entire afternoon I spent in Landmannalaugar (in Iceland's Highlands), I kept looking around thinking how the landscape couldn't possibly be real. The rhyolite mountains shifted from browns to reds to greens and back again, and seemed to change with every turn of the head. It really did feel like I was in an impressionist painting; I wonder if the two hikers in this shot felt the same?
