Look Mom, He's Breathing Fire!
The crowd looks on at the sheer spectacle of Saida Pass' performance at Perchtenlauf in Rattenberg. Throughout the first week of December, groups (or "passes") perform in Perchten events across Austria's Tyrol region. We went to many of these shows over the course of three days, but the ones in Rattenberg -- a charming city on the banks of the river Inn -- were our absolute favourites. I won't be forgetting the din of all the drums echoing off the walls of the city anytime soon!
